Manitoba Mineral Properties
EagleRidge Minerals Ltd (ERM) owns over 18,000 hectares of mineral claims that are strategically positioned in the Rice Lake Greenstone Belt(RLGB) of southeast Manitoba. These Manitoba exploration lands represent the pooling of important mineral claims that until this point have seen only limited and sporadic exploration in the past. Up until now ownership of these lands was fragmented among numerous holders, and no one entity was successful in pooling these properties together into a land package of a sufficent size required to warrant a significant exploration effort.
A company founder saw his vision to build a large scale mineral land holding in Manitoba become a reality in 2007, following nearly 4 years of research and a “hands on” approach to the evaluation the acquisition of mineral claims. Those claims are now held by ERM and represent an excellent portfolio of properties located in a productive gold mining and exploration area of Manitoba. Gold Potential Of The Rice Lake Greenstone Belt
The Rice Lake Greenstone Belt (RLGB) is an established gold camp with historic production of over 1.7 million ounces and it is one of the most important gold-producing areas in mining friendly Manitoba. This greenstone belt stretches from Lake Winnipeg east into Ontario. Considered by many to be vastly under explored, the RLGB area is viewed as being highly prospective to the discovery of significant new high grade gold deposits. Today exploration based on strong research, geological modeling, prospecting and the use of modern exploration tools is now beginning to unlock the secrets of the gold deposits in the area.
Gold production has restarted at the former San Antonio mine in Bissett, plus a second mine opened in 2007, a third mine is presently being developed and a fourth mine is scheduled for development in 2010. San Gold Corp, the company that owns all the Bissett area mines, has been very successful in discovering new gold deposits. Exploration continues to locate new high grade gold zones and as a result the San Gold Corporation has added greatly to known reserves in the area. The modern mine and milling complex located at Bissett is now called the Rice Lake Mine.
Exploration in the RLGB is now at an all time high. Numerous companies have begun to realize the discovery potential of the region and as a result a new gold rush has been triggered. San Gold has made near surface high grade discoveries on their new Hinge Zone, located near the historic mine and a short distance from the ERM Freeman claims. The Hinge Zone has and continues to experience remarkable exploration success; in fact since its discovery only in 2008 the company has already started to bring the deposit into production. Several other companies have recently acquired land in the area while others are expanding.
Numerous experts now recognize the geological similarities between the RLGB and the prolific Red Lake mining district in Ontario, yet the Rice Lake belt remains vastly underexplored. By comparison, the Red Lake area has produced over 30 million ounces of gold and is home to Gold Corp’s 600,000 oz per year mine which is one of the riches and lowest cost gold mines in the world. New gold discoveries still continue to be made in the Red Lake area, proving that modern methods can produce new discoveries in established mining camps, as is now the case in the Rice lake region.
The ERM exploration properties cover areas of favorable geology and features similar in nature to those found at present and past gold producers elsewhere in the RLGB and the Red Lake Ontario area. Several of the ERM locations include mineral claims on which historic gold discoveries have been made.
EagleRidge has six mineral properties in Manitoba, four of them most favor gold as the target mineral for exploration. Two other properties offer potential for discovery of both precious and base metals.
